How to setup HeyGen and Telegram Bot in 5 easy steps
Get your HeyGen API token from settings
Sign into your HeyGen account and click on your profile name in the upper left corner, then select Settings. In the left sidebar, navigate to 'Subscriptions & API' and click on 'HeyGen API'. You'll find an API Token field with a unique code - copy this entire token and save it somewhere safe, as you'll need it to connect HeyGen to Make. This API token acts like a secure password that allows Make to communicate with your HeyGen account. Keep it accessible so you can paste it into Make when setting up the connection.
Connect HeyGen to your Make scenario
Log into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to use HeyGen. Add a HeyGen module to your workflow and click 'Create a connection' when prompted. In the connection setup screen, paste the API token you copied from HeyGen into the 'API Key' field. You can optionally give your connection a memorable name to help identify it later. Once you've entered the API token, click 'Save' to complete the connection. Your HeyGen account is now linked to Make and ready to use in your automation.
Create a Telegram bot using BotFather
Open your web browser and go to https://telegram.me/BotFather, which is Telegram's official bot creation tool. Type '/newbot' in the message box and press enter to start creating your bot. BotFather will guide you through the process and ask you to choose a username for your bot. After you complete the setup, BotFather will send you a message containing your bot's token - a unique code that identifies your bot. Copy this token and store it securely, just like you did with the HeyGen token. BotFather will also provide a link to access your newly created bot.
Access and verify your Telegram bot
BotFather will give you a link to your bot that looks like 't.me/yourBotName'. Click this link or enter it in your browser to open your bot in Telegram. This step allows you to see your bot and confirm it's properly set up before connecting it to Make. Interacting with your bot through Telegram ensures everything is working correctly. You can send a test message to verify the bot appears and responds as expected in your Telegram app.
Connect your Telegram bot to Make
Return to your Make account and add a Telegram Bot module to your scenario. Click 'Create a connection' to begin linking your bot to Make. In the connection setup screen, paste the token you received from BotFather into the 'Token' field. You can optionally name your connection for identification. Click 'Save' to establish the connection, and Make will verify the token. Your Telegram bot is now connected to Make and ready to automate your messaging workflows.
