How to setup HeyGen and Telegram Bot in 5 easy steps
Get your HeyGen API token from settings
Sign into your HeyGen account and click on your profile name in the upper left corner, then select Settings. In the left sidebar, navigate to 'Subscriptions & API' and click on 'HeyGen API'. You'll find an API Token field with a unique code - copy this entire token and save it somewhere safe, as you'll need it to connect HeyGen to Make. This API token acts like a secure password that allows Make to communicate with your HeyGen account. Keep it accessible so you can paste it into Make when setting up the connection.
Connect HeyGen to your Make scenario
Log into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to use HeyGen. Add a HeyGen module to your workflow and click 'Create a connection' when prompted. In the connection setup screen, paste the API token you copied from HeyGen into the 'API Key' field. You can optionally give your connection a memorable name to help identify it later. Once you've entered the API token, click 'Save' to complete the connection. Your HeyGen account is now linked to Make and ready to use in your automation.
Create a Telegram bot using BotFather
Open your web browser and go to https://telegram.me/BotFather, which is Telegram's official bot creation tool. Type '/newbot' in the message box and press enter to start creating your bot. BotFather will guide you through the process and ask you to choose a username for your bot. After you complete the setup, BotFather will send you a message containing your bot's token - a unique code that identifies your bot. Copy this token and store it securely, just like you did with the HeyGen token. BotFather will also provide a link to access your newly created bot.
Access and verify your Telegram bot
BotFather will give you a link to your bot that looks like 't.me/yourBotName'. Click this link or enter it in your browser to open your bot in Telegram. This step allows you to see your bot and confirm it's properly set up before connecting it to Make. Interacting with your bot through Telegram ensures everything is working correctly. You can send a test message to verify the bot appears and responds as expected in your Telegram app.
Connect your Telegram bot to Make
Return to your Make account and add a Telegram Bot module to your scenario. Click 'Create a connection' to begin linking your bot to Make. In the connection setup screen, paste the token you received from BotFather into the 'Token' field. You can optionally name your connection for identification. Click 'Save' to establish the connection, and Make will verify the token. Your Telegram bot is now connected to Make and ready to automate your messaging workflows.

FAQ
By integrating HeyGen with Telegram Bot through Make, you can automatically generate AI-powered videos and instantly distribute them to your Telegram audience. For example, when a new subscriber joins your Telegram bot, Make can trigger HeyGen to create a personalized welcome video and send it directly through the bot. This automation eliminates manual video creation and distribution, saving hours of work while maintaining consistent, professional communication with your audience at scale.
There are numerous powerful use cases for this integration: automated course content delivery where AI-generated video lessons are sent to students via Telegram, personalized product updates where HeyGen creates custom video announcements distributed through your bot, multilingual customer support with AI avatars responding to queries, automated news briefings with daily video summaries sent to subscribers, and training programs where step-by-step video tutorials are delivered based on user progress. Make enables all these workflows without coding, letting you connect triggers and actions visually.
No coding skills are required. Make provides a visual, drag-and-drop interface that lets you connect HeyGen and Telegram Bot through pre-built modules. You simply authenticate both applications, select the triggers (like 'new message received' in Telegram) and actions (like 'create video' in HeyGen), and map the data between them. Make's intuitive workflow builder guides you through each step, and you can test your automation before going live. Even complete beginners can create sophisticated integrations in minutes, with templates and documentation available to help you get started quickly.
Using Make saves significant time and resources compared to custom development. Building a direct integration would require backend development expertise, server infrastructure, API maintenance, and ongoing security updates—potentially costing thousands of dollars and weeks of development time. Make eliminates all of this by providing ready-made connectors, reliable infrastructure, automatic updates, and built-in error handling. You can launch your integration in hours instead of weeks, with no upfront development costs. Plus, Make's scalability means your automation grows with your business, and you can add other apps like Google Sheets, Slack, or CRM systems to create even more powerful workflows.
A scenario represents a workflow or a project of your own creation, and it is made up of a series of modules that automate apps and services. Creating a scenario allows you to transfer and transform data between apps and services via these modules to automate anything and improve the way you work.
Modules are the main building blocks of automation in Make. Modules represent actions that Make performs with an app, like creating, updating, or deleting data.
