Download and set up the Make app on your iPhone or iPad

Start by downloading the Make app from the App Store on your iOS device. Once installed, open the app and log in by scanning a QR code or entering a pairing code from your Make account in a web browser. This connects your phone or tablet to Make so they can work together. After logging in, go to Settings in the app and enable the permissions for features like Photos, Contacts, or Calendar that you want to use in your automations.

Get your Anthropic Claude API key

To use Anthropic Claude with Make, you'll need an API key from your Anthropic Claude account. Log into the Anthropic Claude console and look for the key icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Click the option to create a new key, select your workspace, give it a memorable name, and copy the key immediately. Make sure to save this key somewhere safe, as you won't be able to see it again once you close the window.

Add Anthropic Claude to your Make scenario

Open your Make account and either create a new automation scenario or open an existing one where you want to use Anthropic Claude. Add an Anthropic Claude module to your workflow by searching for it in the available apps. When the module appears, click the option to create a new connection. This prepares Make to link with your Anthropic Claude account so the two services can communicate.

Connect Anthropic Claude using your API key

In the connection window that appears, paste the API key you copied from Anthropic Claude into the designated field. You can also give this connection a custom name to help you remember what it's for, especially if you plan to create multiple connections later. Click Save to establish the connection. Once saved, Make will be authorized to access Anthropic Claude's features, and you can use this connection in any of your automation scenarios.

Test your connections to ensure everything works

After setting up your connections, it's important to test them to make sure everything is working properly. Create a test scenario in Make that uses both your iOS device and Anthropic Claude. For example, you might set up a button in the Make iOS app that triggers an AI response from Claude. Run the scenario and check that the actions complete successfully. You can monitor activity in the Events tab of your iOS app to confirm that data is flowing correctly between your device, Make, and Anthropic Claude.
