How to set up Make and HeyGen in 5 easy steps

Find your HeyGen API token in your account settings

Log into your HeyGen account and click on your profile name in the upper left corner, then select Settings. Navigate to 'Subscriptions & API' in the left sidebar and click on 'HeyGen API' to reveal your unique API token. Copy this token and save it somewhere safe, as you'll need it to connect HeyGen with Make. This token acts like a secure password that allows Make to communicate with your HeyGen account.

Add a HeyGen module to your Make scenario

Log into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to use HeyGen. Search for and add a HeyGen module to your workflow. When you add the module, you'll see an option to create a connection—click on it to begin linking your HeyGen account with Make. This step prepares Make to work together with HeyGen in your automation.

Set up your HeyGen connection in Make

In the connection setup window, give your connection a descriptive name like 'My HeyGen Account' to help you identify it later. Then paste the API token you copied from HeyGen into the 'API Key' field. Make sure you paste the entire token without any extra spaces at the beginning or end, then click 'Save' to establish the connection between the two platforms.

Add a Make module when connecting Make to itself

If you need to connect Make to itself for scenario communication, add a Make module from the module list and click 'Create a connection'. You'll be asked to choose between OAuth2 or API key as your connection method—OAuth2 is simpler, while API key gives you more control. Select the method that best fits your needs for this particular automation.

Complete your Make connection setup

Enter your Make environment URL in the connection field—this is the web address of your Make instance, which you can find in your browser's address bar when logged in (like 'https://eu1.make.com'). If using the API key method, paste your Make API key into the designated field. Give your connection a descriptive name, double-check all information is correct, then click 'Save' to finalize the connection and start building your automations.
