Waves preview

Once a year, the best and brightest minds in AI and automation gather in one place to share, learn, and connect. We call it Waves - and this year, it’s set to be bigger, bolder, and more immersive than ever. Dan Etheridge, Head of Brand at Make, outlines what you can expect.

Over two unforgettable days in Munich this October, Waves ’25 will bring together up to 750 Makers, creators, and business leaders to hear bold ideas from top speakers, see the latest Make product updates first, and connect with the people driving change in the automation space.

From headline keynotes and live demos to startup pitches, hands-on workshops, and our legendary wrap party, Waves ‘25 is where your next big idea will be brought to life.

What is Waves?

Waves is Make’s annual community event, designed for anyone who wants to understand where automation and AI are headed next. Since its launch, it has evolved into a calendar highlight in the automation world, bringing together innovators and leaders from across the globe.

Waves is about more than talks on a stage. It’s about learning and experimenting together. Attendees explore product announcements, join expert-led workshops, and connect with peers solving real challenges with Make, AI, and other cutting-edge tools.

Whether you’re just starting with Make or you are a no-code automation pro, Waves is where the community comes together to see what’s next – and to shape it together.

What to expect at Waves ‘25

Day 1: Getting a head start

This year, we’re kicking things off a whole day early on October 15 with three special events:

  • The Current: New for 2025, this afternoon event is designed for intermediate Make users who want to push their skills further. Led by Make experts, it’s a mix of hands-on building, insider tips, and power-user best practices you won’t find anywhere else. Demand has been huge and tickets are already sold out, but you can still join the waitlist.

  • Partner Day: An invite-only session dedicated to Make partners, offering space to connect and collaborate before Waves officially begins.

  • Happy Hour: A relaxed social event with drinks and networking that kicks off at 5 pm the night before Waves begins. Meet fellow attendees in an informal setting to get ahead of the main day. Tickets are available as an optional add-on to your Waves pass.

Day 2: The main event

On October 16, Waves ‘25 will deliver a full day of content and connection across three stages.

As well as a highly-anticipated keynote from Make leadership, there’s a jam-packed agenda with sessions covering the hottest topics in automation and AI – from the rise of AI agents to new protocols like MCP and the cultural shifts needed to embed AI at scale.

Beyond the stage, Waves ‘25 will also be focused on hands-on discovery. Meet the Makers is back, giving you the chance to book 1:1 time with Make’s Product, Engineering, and Customer Care teams (aka the people who know Make best of all).

New for this year, The Playground will give attendees the chance to explore Make’s latest features, from the Scenario Builder to AI Agents and Make Grid. With experts on hand, this will be a space to experiment, ask questions, and see what’s possible in real time.

Replay: Waves on demand

New for 2025, every Waves session will be recorded and available to watch after the event. Whether you can’t make it to Munich or just want to revisit your favorite talks, Replay gives you on-demand access to the full agenda – so you won’t miss a moment.

5 sessions guaranteed to inspire you at Waves ’25

With three stages running in parallel, choosing where to be at Waves won’t be easy. To help, here are five sessions already shaping up to be highlights:

1. Waves ’25 keynote

If you only make it to one session, make it this one. Make’s Fabian Veit (CEO), Patrik Simek (CTO and co-founder), Darin Paterson (VP of Market Strategy), and Anton Danilov (VP of Product) will lift the lid on new Make product updates and share their vision for where AI and automation are headed. It’s the roadmap moment, and the foundation for everything else you’ll hear across the event.

2. To agent or not to agent? That is the question

AI agents are the buzzword of 2025, but what do they really mean for your business? In this session we’ll define what agents are, help you identify the right moments to use them, then demonstrate how to build your first one. By the end, you’ll be able to decide for yourself the right situations and approaches for deploying this productivity superpower.

3. Automation of the Year – Live!

Don’t miss the ultimate automation showdown. Make Influencers and Community stars - including Shubham Sharma, founder of Notion Secrets and a leading voice in the no-code space - will take the stage to showcase the most jaw-dropping automations of the past year.

The best bit? The audience decides the winner in a live vote. Expect high energy, inspiring ideas, and lots of fun.

4 Unleash your inner vibe coder

What’s the vibe with vibe coding? Join Hedy Lemus Bird, Product Designer at Make, and Farhan Ali, Field Engineer at Vercel, as they break down this emerging AI-assisted approach - no jargon, just the essentials. Get ready to tap into a new level of creativity and make your automation capabilities truly shine.

5. You down with MCP? Yeah, you know me!

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is everywhere right now, but what is it – and what does it mean for the world of automation?

In this session, Make’s German Bernhart (Principal Product Manager) and Dominik Kadera (Software Engineer) will explain how Make plays a unique role as both an MCP client and a powerful MCP server, and how this exciting new approach to connectivity changes the future of automation. If you want to stay ahead of the conversation, this is a must-attend.

More agenda announcements soon!

The full agenda for Waves ‘25 is still being finalized, with new sessions and exciting speakers being confirmed. Keep an eye on the Waves ’25 agenda to stay up to speed as the full program takes shape.
