Connect Anthropic Claude and Perplexity AI integrations

Get your API key from your application

To connect an application like Anthropic Claude or Perplexity AI to Make, you first need to obtain an API key from that application. Log into your application's dashboard and look for the API or settings section—in Anthropic Claude, you'll find a key icon in the bottom-left corner, while in Perplexity AI, click the Settings icon next to your username. Once there, create a new API key by clicking the appropriate button, and immediately copy this key to a safe place like a password manager, as most platforms will only show it once for security reasons.

Open your Make scenario and add the module

After securing your API key, head over to your Make account and open the scenario where you want to use your connected application. Add a module for the specific application you're connecting—whether that's Anthropic Claude or Perplexity AI—to your automation workflow. When you add the module, Make will present you with an option to create a new connection, which is your gateway to linking the two services together.

Give your connection a memorable name

During the connection setup process in Make, you'll have the opportunity to name your connection. While this is optional, choosing a clear and descriptive name like 'Anthropic Claude - Main Account' will make your life much easier down the road. This is especially helpful if you plan to create multiple connections or work with several different accounts, as you'll be able to quickly identify which connection you need for each automation.

Paste your API key into Make

In the connection setup window within Make, you'll see a field specifically labeled for your API key. This is where you'll paste the API key you copied earlier from your application's dashboard. Take care to paste the entire key accurately without adding any extra spaces or characters, as even small errors can prevent the connection from working properly.

Save and start automating

Once you've entered your API key, click the Save button to complete your connection setup. Make may ask you to confirm the connection one final time for security purposes, but after that, you're all set. Your connection is now active and ready to use, allowing Make and your chosen application to communicate securely and enabling you to build powerful automations that use the capabilities of both platforms.
