Get authorization credentials from Google Cloud Platform
To connect Looker Studio with Make, you first need to set up authorization credentials through Google Cloud Platform. Log into the Google Cloud Platform console, go to 'APIs & Services', then click on 'Credentials'. This is where you'll create the special permissions that allow Make to securely access your Looker Studio data without needing your password.
Create your OAuth connection credentials
In the Credentials section, click 'CREATE CREDENTIALS' and select 'OAuth client ID' from the options. Fill in the required fields that appear, including the callback URI which should be: https://www.integromat.com/oauth/cb/google-data-studio. This callback URI is the address where Looker Studio will send confirmation after you grant permission for the connection.
Save your Client ID and Client Secret
After clicking 'Create', Google will display both a Client ID and a Client Secret on your screen. Copy both of these values immediately and store them in a safe place like a password manager. You'll need these credentials in the next steps to complete your connection in Make, and the Client Secret should be kept confidential as it acts like a password for your connection.
Add the Looker Studio module in Make
Log into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to use Looker Studio. Search for and add the Looker Studio module to your workflow. Once added, click the 'Create a connection' button to begin setting up the link between Make and Looker Studio.
Complete the connection setup
In the connection setup screen, give your connection a descriptive name like 'My Looker Studio Connection' so you can easily identify it later. Paste the Client ID and Client Secret that you saved earlier into the appropriate fields, then follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the connection.
