Understanding connections between apps
Before automating tasks on Make, you need to create a secure connection that allows your apps to communicate with each other. This connection acts like a bridge, giving Make permission to access your accounts in services like Anthropic Claude or HubSpot CRM so it can perform actions automatically on your behalf.
Generate your API key in Anthropic Claude
Log into your Anthropic Claude console and navigate to the API keys section by clicking the key icon in the bottom-left corner. Click 'Create Key', select your workspace, give it a memorable name, and click 'Add'. Copy this key immediately and store it safely, as it will only be shown once and acts as a secure password for Make to access your account.
Add your app module in Make
Sign into your Make account and begin creating your automation scenario. Add either an Anthropic Claude or HubSpot CRM module to your workflow, depending on which app you want to connect first. When you add the module, you'll see a 'Create a connection' button—click it to start the connection process.
Enter your connection details
For Anthropic Claude, paste the API key you generated earlier into the designated field. For HubSpot CRM, click 'Save' after optionally naming your connection, and you'll be prompted to log into HubSpot to authorize Make's access. You can give your connection a custom name to help identify it later, especially if you manage multiple connections.
Complete and test your connection
Click 'Save' to establish the connection, and Make will verify that your credentials are correct and working properly. Once the connection is successfully created, your apps can now communicate through Make, allowing you to automate tasks like transferring data, triggering actions, or syncing information between Anthropic Claude and HubSpot CRM without manual work.
