How to setup LinkedIn and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Log in to Make and add your app module
Start by logging into your Make account through your web browser. Once inside, you'll need to add a module for the app you want to connect—either LinkedIn or Perplexity AI. Find the app you want and click on it to add it to your workspace. This module acts as the bridge that will allow Make to communicate with your chosen application.
Start creating your connection
After adding your app module, you'll see a button to create a connection. Click on "Create a Connection" to begin linking Make with your chosen app. At this point, you can optionally give your connection a custom name to help you identify it later, especially if you're planning to manage multiple workflows. If you prefer, you can skip naming it and use the default name provided.
Get your API key from Perplexity AI
If you're connecting Perplexity AI, you'll need an API key, which works like a secure password that allows Make to access your account. Log into your Perplexity AI account, click on the Settings icon, and navigate to the API section. Once there, click "Create Key" to generate your unique API key, then copy it immediately and store it somewhere safe for the next step.
Enter your credentials in Make
Return to Make and paste your API key into the designated field in the connection form. If you're connecting LinkedIn instead, you'll be asked to choose a connection method—the standard LinkedIn option works well for most users. This step completes the authentication process, telling your chosen app that Make has permission to access your account on your behalf.
Save and confirm your connection
After entering all the required information, click the "Save" button to finalize your connection. Make will securely store these credentials so you won't need to enter them again. You may be prompted one final time to authenticate and confirm that you're giving Make permission to access your application. Once confirmed, your connection is complete and ready to use in your automation workflows.
