Make gives you two ways to link your applications: OAuth2 or API key. OAuth2 is the simpler option where you just click to authorize, while API key requires you to get a special code first. Pick the method that feels more comfortable for you before starting.
Get your API key from Make
If you chose the API key method, log into Make and click your profile picture, then select 'Profile'. Go to the 'API' tab and click 'Add token'. Give your key a nickname so you can remember what it's for, then click 'Save'. Copy this key immediately and store it safely—you'll need it soon and won't be able to see it again later.
Add a Make module to your workflow
Open the scenario where you want to create your connection. Add a Make module to your workspace—think of this as the building block that will use your connection. When the setup window appears, click 'Create a connection' to begin linking your applications together.
Select your connection method
Choose between OAuth2 and API key based on what you decided earlier. If you already got an API key, select that option. Give your connection a clear, memorable name so you can easily find it later when working with multiple connections.
Complete your connection setup
Enter your Make environment URL (like 'https://eu1.make.com') in the appropriate field—this tells Make where to send your data. If you're using an API key, paste the code you saved earlier into the 'API key' field. Click 'Save' and confirm any authorization prompts that appear. Your connection is now ready to use in your automation.
