How to setup OpenAI (ChatGPT, Sora, DALL-E, Whisper) and Vapi in 5 easy steps
Get your Vapi API key
Sign in to your Vapi account and navigate to the API Keys section by clicking 'Build' in the sidebar, then selecting 'Vapi API Keys'. Here you'll find your Private Key, which is the special code that allows Make to connect to your Vapi account. Copy this key and save it somewhere secure, as you'll need it in the next steps. If you don't see a key listed, click 'Add Key' to generate a new one.
Add Vapi to your Make workflow
Log in to your Make account and open the automation scenario where you want to use Vapi. Search for the Vapi module in the available apps list and click on it to add it to your workflow. This module will be the bridge that lets Make communicate with your Vapi account and access its features within your automation.
Start the connection setup
When you add the Vapi module to your workflow, you'll see an option to 'Create a connection'. Click this button to open the connection setup screen. This is where you'll provide the necessary information to link your Make account with Vapi, allowing the two platforms to work together in your automated processes.
Enter your connection details
In the connection form, you'll see a field labeled 'API Key' where you need to paste the Private Key you copied from your Vapi account earlier. You can also give your connection a friendly name in the 'Connection name' field to help you identify it later, though this step is optional. The API Key is the essential piece that securely authorizes Make to access your Vapi account.
Save and complete the connection
Click the 'Save' button to finalize your connection between Make and Vapi. The system will verify your API Key and establish the link between the two platforms. Once saved successfully, your connection is ready to use, and you can now incorporate Vapi's features into your Make automation scenarios without needing to reconnect each time.
