How to setup Perplexity AI and Azure OpenAI in 5 easy steps
Set up Azure OpenAI in the Azure portal
Before connecting to Make, you need to prepare your Azure OpenAI service. Log into the Azure portal and create a subscription, then set up a resource group to organize your services. Finally, create an Azure OpenAI resource by selecting your subscription, resource group, region, and giving it a unique name. This resource is what Make will connect to for AI-powered automation.
Get your Azure connection credentials
To allow Make to communicate with Azure OpenAI, you need to collect two important pieces of information from the Azure portal. Navigate to your Azure OpenAI resource, select Keys and Endpoint from the menu, and copy one of the API keys along with the endpoint URL. Save these credentials securely as you'll need them when setting up the connection in Make.
Connect Azure OpenAI to Make
In your Make account, add an Azure OpenAI module to your automation scenario and click Create a connection. Enter the endpoint URL from Azure (which looks like https://yourname.openai.azure.com/) and paste your API key into the appropriate fields. Click Save to establish the connection, which will allow Make to access your Azure OpenAI services for your automations.

To connect Perplexity AI to Make, you'll need an API key from Perplexity. Log into your Perplexity AI account, click the Settings icon, and navigate to the API section. Create a new API group with your payment details, then generate an API key by clicking Create Key. Copy this key and keep it handy for the next step.

In Make, add a Perplexity AI module to your scenario and select Create a connection when prompted.
