How to setup Perplexity AI and IFTTT in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI connection key
To connect Perplexity AI with Make, you'll first need to obtain an API key from your Perplexity AI account. Log into Perplexity AI, navigate to Settings, then click on API in the sidebar. Create an API group by filling in the required information and saving it. Then go to the API Keys tab and click Create Key to generate your unique connection key. Copy this key immediately and keep it safe, as you'll need it to establish the connection in Make.
Connect Perplexity AI to your Make automation
Open Make and navigate to the automation where you want to use Perplexity AI. Add a Perplexity AI module to your workflow, which will prompt you to create a connection. Click the Create a connection button, then paste the API key you copied from Perplexity AI into the API Key field. You can also give your connection a custom name to help identify it later. Click Save to complete the connection, and your Perplexity AI account will now be linked to Make and ready to use in your automations.
Set up IFTTT to send data to Make
To receive information from IFTTT in your Make automation, create an applet on IFTTT with the trigger event you want to monitor. Within that applet, add a Webhook action called Make a web request. This action tells IFTTT where and how to send data to Make when your trigger occurs. You can structure the information you're sending by labeling different data points, making it easier to work with the information once it arrives in Make.
Receive and confirm IFTTT data in Make
In Make, create a new automation starting with the IFTTT Receive data module. This module acts as a listener waiting for information from your IFTTT applet. Turn on your IFTTT applet and run it once to send test data to Make. Once Make receives this sample information, click OK to confirm the connection. The data structure you receive will be available throughout your automation, allowing you to use the information from IFTTT in subsequent steps of your workflow.
Send data from Make back to IFTTT
To send information from Make to IFTTT, create a new IFTTT applet and add the IFTTT Send data module to your Make automation. Complete your automation setup in Make, save your work, and turn it on to start sending data to IFTTT. The information flowing from Make can then trigger actions in your IFTTT applet, allowing you to control other connected services and devices based on what happens in your Make automation.
