How to setup Perplexity AI and WordPress in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI API key
To connect Perplexity AI with Make, you first need to obtain an API key from your Perplexity AI account. Log into Perplexity AI, click on the Settings icon next to your username, and select the API option from the sidebar. In the API section, create a new API group and set up your payment information. Then go to the API Keys tab, click Create Key, and copy the key that appears. Save this key somewhere safe as you'll need it to connect with Make.
Install the Make Connector plugin on your WordPress site
Before you can connect WordPress to Make, you need to install a special plugin called Make Connector. Download the plugin file from the Make Connector plugin page, then log into your WordPress Admin area. Navigate to Plugins, click Add Plugins, and select Upload Plugin. Choose the downloaded zip file, click Install Now, and activate the plugin once it's installed. This plugin creates a secure bridge between your WordPress site and Make.
Locate your WordPress API key
After activating the Make Connector plugin, you'll see a new Make option appear in your WordPress admin menu. Click on it to access the plugin settings and view your connection information. In the General Settings tab, click Reveal next to the API Key field to display your unique WordPress key. Copy this key and keep it safe, as you'll need it to establish the connection with Make in the next steps.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
Log into your Make account and start building your automation by adding a Perplexity AI module. When prompted, click Create a Connection and optionally give it a descriptive name to help you identify it later. Paste the API key you copied from Perplexity AI into the API Key field and click Save. Make will verify your credentials and establish the connection so you can start using Perplexity AI in your automations.
Connect WordPress to Make
Add a WordPress module to your Make scenario and click Create a Connection. In the WordPress REST API base URL field, enter your website address followed by /wp-/ (for example: https://your-site.com/wp-/). Paste the API key you copied from the Make Connector plugin into the API Key field and click Save. Make will test the connection to ensure everything is working properly, and you'll be ready to automate tasks between WordPress and other apps.
