How to setup Salesforce and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI API key
Sign into your Perplexity AI account and click on Settings next to your username. Navigate to the API section in the left sidebar, create a new API group, and add your payment information. Then go to the API Keys tab and click Create Key to generate your unique API key. Copy this key and save it in a secure location like a password manager, as you'll need it to connect with Make.
Add Perplexity AI to your Make scenario
Log into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to use Perplexity AI. Add a Perplexity AI module to your workflow by selecting it from the available options. When the module appears, you'll see a button to Create a connection—click this to begin the linking process. This is how you start building the bridge between Make and your Perplexity AI account.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
In the connection setup window, you can optionally give your connection a descriptive name to help you identify it later. Paste the API key you copied earlier from Perplexity AI into the API Key field, making sure there are no extra spaces. Click Save to establish the connection. Once saved, Make can now communicate with your Perplexity AI account and use its features in your automated workflows.
Add Salesforce to your Make scenario
Open your Make account and add a Salesforce module to your scenario. Click Create a connection when prompted and select the standard Salesforce connection type. You can give your connection a custom name to keep things organized, especially if you're managing multiple connections across different scenarios.
Complete your Salesforce connection
After naming your connection, click Save and Make will guide you through the authentication process with Salesforce. If you're using a Salesforce Sandbox environment for testing purposes, make sure to select that option before saving. Once authentication is complete, your Salesforce connection is ready to use, and you can now create automated workflows that connect Salesforce with Perplexity AI and other applications in Make.
