How to setup SerpApi and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Get your API key from your application settings
Sign into your application account (Perplexity AI or SerpApi) and navigate to the Settings section, usually found in the upper right corner. Look for the API or API Keys section where you can generate a new key by clicking a button like Create Key or Generate Key. This unique code acts as a secure password that allows Make to connect with your application.
Copy and safely store your API key
Once your API key appears on screen, copy it immediately and save it in a secure location like a password manager. Treat this key like a password since it provides access to your application. You'll need this key in the next steps to complete the connection in Make, and most applications only display the full key once for security reasons.
Add your application module to a Make scenario
Log in to your Make account and create a new scenario or open an existing one. Search for your application (Perplexity AI or SerpApi) and add its module to your scenario. A scenario is an automated workflow that connects different apps together to help you complete tasks automatically.
Create a new connection in Make
When you add the application module for the first time, Make will ask you to create a connection. Click the Create a connection button that appears in the module settings. Optionally, give your connection a memorable name like My SerpApi Connection to help you identify it later, especially if you plan to use multiple connections.
Paste your API key and save the connection
In the connection setup window, find the API Key field and paste the key you copied earlier from your application account. Make sure to paste the entire key exactly as it appeared without extra spaces. Click Save to finalize the connection, and Make will verify that everything works correctly so your applications can communicate and automate tasks together.
