How to setup Telegram Bot and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI API key
Log into Perplexity AI and click on Settings next to your username. Navigate to the API section in the sidebar, create a new API group, and then generate an API key. Copy this key immediately and store it safely, as you'll need it to connect Perplexity AI to Make. This API key acts as a secure password that allows Make to communicate with your Perplexity AI account and access its features within your automated workflows.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
In your Make account, add a Perplexity AI module to your scenario and click the Create a connection button. Give your connection a name if you'd like, then paste the API key you copied earlier into the designated field. Click Save to establish the connection. Once complete, Perplexity AI will be linked to Make and ready to use in your automation scenarios.
Create a Telegram bot with BotFather
Open Telegram and search for BotFather, which is Telegram's official tool for creating bots. Start a chat with BotFather and type /newbot, then follow the prompts to choose a name and username for your bot. BotFather will provide you with a token—a special code that serves as your bot's identification. Copy this token and keep it in a safe place, as you'll need it to connect your bot to Make.
Add your Telegram Bot to Make
In Make, add a Telegram Bot module to your scenario and click Create a connection. If your module shows an instant tag, first click Create a webhook before proceeding to create the connection. This prepares Make to work with your Telegram bot and enables it to send and receive messages automatically.
Complete the Telegram Bot connection
In the connection window, optionally name your connection for reference, then paste the token from BotFather into the Token field. Click Save to finalize the setup. Your Telegram Bot is now connected to Make and ready to automate tasks like sending messages, receiving updates, and interacting with other apps in your workflows.
