How to setup WhatsApp Business Cloud and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI access key
Sign in to your Perplexity AI account and click on Settings next to your username. Navigate to the API section in the left sidebar, then go to the API Keys tab and click Create Key to generate a new key. Copy this key and save it somewhere safe - you'll need it to connect Perplexity AI with Make. Think of this key as a special password that allows Make to communicate with your Perplexity AI account securely. Keep it stored safely, as you won't be able to see it again once you leave this page.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
Log in to your Make account and open the automation scenario where you want to use Perplexity AI. Add a Perplexity AI module to your scenario, and when prompted, click Create a connection to begin linking the two platforms. In the connection setup screen, paste the key you copied from Perplexity AI into the API Key field. You can also give your connection a name to help you remember which account you're using, then click Save to complete the connection.
Add WhatsApp Business Cloud to your Make scenario
In your Make account, add a WhatsApp Business Cloud module to your automation scenario. When you add this module, you'll see a prompt to create a connection - click the Create a connection button to get started. Make sure to select WhatsApp Business Cloud as your connection type from the options available. This tells Make which service you want to connect to your automation workflow.
Authorize Make to access your WhatsApp Business account
You'll be redirected to log in with your Facebook account, which is connected to your WhatsApp Business setup. Follow the prompts to authorize the connection and select the business assets associated with your WhatsApp Business account. During this process, you'll need to provide your business information and select your WhatsApp Business profile. If you're using a phone number already registered in the WhatsApp Business App, choose the option to connect your existing account rather than creating a new one.
Verify your connections are working
After completing the authorization steps for both Perplexity AI and WhatsApp Business Cloud, Make will confirm that your connections have been successfully created. You can now use both apps together in your automation scenarios to improve your workflows. If you encounter any errors, simply retry the connection process and make sure to select the accounts you already created instead of trying to make new ones. Your connections are now ready to automate tasks between Perplexity AI and WhatsApp Business Cloud.
