Add your app module in Make

Start by logging into your Make account and adding the app module you want to connect to your scenario. Once the module is added, you'll see a button to create a new connection - simply click it to begin linking Make with your chosen application. This initial step is the same whether you're connecting Google Gemini AI or HubSpot CRM. The module acts as the starting point for building the bridge between Make and your other applications.

Set up a Google Cloud project for Gemini AI

If you're connecting Google Gemini AI, you'll first need to create a project in Google Cloud Platform. Log in with your Google credentials and click on 'New project' to get started. Give your project a name that helps you remember its purpose, select a location, and click 'Create'. After creating the project, make sure it's selected in the dropdown menu at the top of the screen so all your next actions apply to the correct project.

Get your API key from Google AI Studio

With your Google Cloud project ready, head to Google AI Studio to obtain your API key. Look for the 'Get API key' button, then click 'Create API key' and select the project you just created. The system will generate a unique API key that acts like a secure password connecting Make to your Google Gemini AI account. Copy this key immediately and save it somewhere safe, as you'll need it in the next step.

Complete the connection in Make

Return to Make and paste your API key into the connection form for Google Gemini AI. You can give your connection a descriptive name to help identify it later, then click 'Save' to establish the link. For HubSpot CRM, the process is more straightforward - just click 'Create a connection' after adding the module, optionally name your connection, and click 'Save'. You'll be redirected to authenticate your account directly with the application.

Confirm your connection is active

After saving, you may need to log into your application directly to authorize Make's access. Follow the on-screen prompts to review and accept the permissions that Make needs. Once authentication is complete, Make will confirm your connection is successful. You'll now see your new connection available in your scenario, ready to use in your automations. Your applications are now connected and can work together through Make.
