Make some noise for a record-breaking 2023!
Thank you for making 2023 a milestone year for Make. We are privileged to be building our product and our community in tandem with all of you.
This year, more people accomplished more incredible things with Make than ever before - by a long way. Here are the highlights:
Our Make user community has grown by a whopping 60% and we are thrilled to now be super-powering nearly 2 million of you globally.
You’ve done so much with the platform. During 2023, we’ve seen over 4 billion scenario runs on Make. This is close to double 2022’s figure. Wow!
Our ecosystem is expanding and unlocking even more workflows to be automated, with the addition of over 300 new apps in 2023.
We continue to see all-time favorites like Google Sheets, Gmail, Airtable, Google Drive, Notion, Slack, Telegram, and Facebook Lead Ads showing up as our most used apps. And it definitely was the year of AI. OpenAI became one of our fastest-ever growing apps along with other services like Anthropic Claude, Jasper, EdenAI, and many others all now supported on Make. We are excited to be leading the way in AI and love seeing how you’re integrating it with your workflows.
A platform that does more than ever
All of you have inspired us to keep improving Make, and we truly appreciate your feedback. We've seen that an increasing number of customers are running whole parts of their business with Make. Throughout 2023, one of the things that we’ve continually heard is that you’d like to do even more with Make.
That’s why many of the feature launches this year are the building blocks for running your entire business on Make. Reducing redundancy in scenarios, making them easier to update, and organizing scenarios for less clutter – all so that you can do even more.
Of course, your scenarios are only as strong as the apps and services you use. In addition to the hundreds of new apps on Make, we launched our new Apps Marketplace which now features more than 60 new apps, enhancing the Make ecosystem and makes it a richer environment - at pace!
Beyond this, you now also have the ability to:
Organize and sort your scenarios with Custom Scenario Properties
Enhance built-in data transformation with Custom Functions
Run complex scenarios just by filling in Scenario Inputs
See more information about your your scenario, organization and more with System and Custom Variables (Video for System and Custom Variables)
Visually and easily reorder router lines with Ordering routes
We’re working on some incredible new releases for 2024, including the new AI Assistant which has just entered a private alpha. Get ready for some real breakthroughs in what Make can do for you in the next 12 months.
A growing community
Nothing makes us happier than hearing about the successes that the Make Community has achieved using the power of Make. Here are a couple of stories from 2023 that we really loved.
Let’s begin with a function that has leveraged Make in increasingly sophisticated ways during 2023: Marketing. We have been so impressed to see all of the imaginative ways that marketers have leaned in and applied Make across a range of use cases. And while some may seem simple, we can assure you that as you grow, they have a far-reaching impact!
Send an email to new Facebook leads: Whenever someone shows interest in what you’re offering by filling out a Facebook Lead Ads form, it’s good to acknowledge their effort and interest via email. Because taking care of each one by hand is costly and time-consuming, automating this process both saves time and prevents any delays in conversations.
Capture event attendees and add them as leads in your CRM: Events can be lead magnets when managed properly. However, it’s crucial to effectively capture and manage the data. You can create leads in Salesforce from new Eventbrite attendees and send email notifications. This starts the engagement process by sending the registrant an email, which you can fill with interesting, relevant information.
Track competitor performance on Instagram: Get your competitors’ followers and media count sent to a Google Sheet. By tracking this data on a regular basis, you’ll be able to identify what works (and what doesn’t) at a glance.
One customer story we’ve loved is Tutero, a trailblazing EdTech startup focused on personalized online tutoring for school-age children. They’ve embraced Make to help them scale efficiently.
With Make, Tutero has been able to fully harness the power of automation and scale it across the company in very little time. These are just some of the functions Tutero has used Make for, with some impactful results:
Tutor recruitment: Currently, a single person can manage 250+ tutors thanks to automation.
Payment monitoring: With Make, Tutero is saving 20+ hours of finance work each week and reducing failed payment issues by 50%.
Lead management: After synchronizing its lead generation funnel, Tutero has reduced response times by a significant margin (nowadays, leads get a full answer in 25 minutes or less on average)!
Tutero Product Manager Darshan Bhansali said, “Make allows us to transport data between systems, reduce repeatable work, reduce the burden on our engineering team, and deliver automated customer sequences at scale”. We love to hear it!
Next up? By identifying opportunities for automation and designing efficient solutions, Tutero employees are driven towards more meaningful work, leaders get more time to strategize, and value gets delivered faster than ever before.
Farewell Integromat, hello Make
When we launched Integromat in 2016, it brought the radical promise of connecting hundreds of applications in a unique and visual way. We're incredibly proud of the fact that thousands of you recognized this potential and embraced Integromat to do things we could never have imagined.
As our community of users grew, we wanted to take our platform to the next level. In 2022, we announced that Integromat would evolve into Make. And while many of you never knew Integromat, we’ve been working hard over the last year to migrate all remaining users to the Make platform.
So as Integromat shut down for good on September 30, 2023, we finally closed that first chapter of our history. Now, we're incredibly excited to finally have everyone on the Make platform, achieving more with the benefit of the latest functionality. Our adventure together has only just begun.
Waves ‘23: our first-ever user event
We rounded out the year with Waves ‘23, our first ever Make in-person user event, at a specially-converted airport hangar in Munich. Waves featured insights and inspiration from an array of industry trailblazers. Hundreds of you joined us at the event and shared the challenges and successes that you’ve experienced with Make. This has served as a useful guide on our path forward and kickstarted an even closer dialogue between the Make team and our wider Make community.
The agenda was packed with nearly 30 speakers and hosts. Highlights included a keynote session with Nina Schick on the future of generative AI and the transformation of knowledge work, a Make Product Roadmap session led by our very own VP of Product, Darin Patterson, and a brilliant deep-dive into how to run a fast-growing business on Make, led by CIO of FINN, Andreas Stryz.
At future events, we look forward to meeting more of you to share stories, learn from some of the industry’s brightest minds, and help us to bring together the Make community to celebrate our achievements with more parties. Stay tuned!
Thank you once more for everything that we’ve accomplished this year. We wish you a wonderful holiday season and a bright start to 2024.
