What’s Next for Make in 2018
A look back at our success in 2017, and a glimpse into 2018
Happy New Year!
If 2018 is anything like 2017, we have one full but exciting year ahead of new milestones to pass. So, before we look into what’s in store for 2018, let’s first reflect on the year past.
2017 was a milestone year for us.
We reached new heights, entered more markets and continued to grow and create a service that is designed for our growing user base. Our team grew and expanded. We consistently added more apps/services. We added new features based on your requests and growing needs.
All the while, we still kept Make easy-to-use and accessible for users at all levels.
2017, in numbers
For those more numbers-oriented, in 2017 our customer base grew from 5,000 at the beginning of the year to over 22,000 customers at the end of the year.
Furthermore, we have users in over 196 countries, with our strongest presence in the United States.
We added over 100 new apps/services, with over 1,200 new modules. With numbers like these, we have solidified that there are infinite permutations to help automate your workflow.
Answering your questions and inquires has been a top priority as well. Our support team solved over 6,000 tickets in 2017.
And astoundingly, there have been 60,000 active scenarios throughout the year.
In correlation to the numbers, we also made some major achievements that will help to carry on our success in 2018.
2017 milestones
This year we hit some major milestones. From a new design to new features, our goal has been to grow the capabilities of Make while retaining its user-friendliness.
Here are a few of the 2017 milestones that helped us to do that.
New design
In October 2017, we launched a new design for Make.
The new design included updates to the dashboard, to the execution log, and to data structures. Most notably, we updated our scenario editor (where you create scenarios) with a new look.
With the updates to the scenario editor, you can set your favorite apps for easy access and have references between modules be validated in real-time.
Just to name a few of the updates :).
Mobile app
Make is now also available on the App Store and Google Play. By connecting to the mobile app, you can extend the scope of your automation possibilities.
Now, you will be able to create integrations that will react to changes on your phone, like receiving SMS messages, incoming phone calls, or changes to your phone’s GPS location.
Developer platform
This year we also launched our Developer Platform for the public to use to create their own apps. The platform is what our team uses to bring your favorite apps to Make.
If you searched and could not find the app you are looking for, simply create it on our Developer Platform. Our Developer Platform is a free tool that helps you integrate your app with hundreds of other apps and services.
And the best part, you create your own app still without writing a single line of code.
Data stores
Now, you can easily store data in Make with data stores. Datastores allow you to store data or transfer data between individual scenarios or scenario runs. Datastores can also store new data from various systems during synchronization and are similar to databases or simple tables.
What’s next in 2018
With a full set of features developed and a redesign in 2017, we are excited to present Make in different ways and solutions that fit our varied users’ needs in 2018.
Hosted solutions
In 2018, Make will also be available as different hosted solutions for our enterprise-level clients. There will be two additional solutions available.
The first is a hosted solution on our server as a separate instance. Users will have private access and have no operations or data limits set.
The second form will be an on-premise solution where Make will be hosted on the client’s server and thus have no set limitations from our end.
White labeling
As one of the top workflow automation platforms on the market, we will also be offering our solution as a white label product. In 2018, the Make solution and technology will be available for other companies to outsource to use for their own development.
Affiliate programs
As a thank-you to our clients for helping us promote Make for the world-at-large, we will be launching an Affiliate Program. For recommending Make, the existing user will receive a referral bonus for their friend’s new subscription.
Partner networks
Not every scenario needs to be built from scratch. Some of us could benefit from the same integrations. So in addition to all of the above, we will also be launching different Partner Networks in 2018. The Partner Networks will be separate streams of support that will create use cases and build scenarios that are common for specific customer/client bases.
Converger
Opposite of the router, we announce the converger. The converger allows you to join multiple routes back together into one branch.
Multiple triggers
This year will be introducing the idea of multiple triggers. This will give you the option of having one scenario being triggered by multiple events instead of only one event.
Scenario tags
Use lots of different scenarios? This year we will also provide the capability to create scenario tags for your scenarios to keep everything in order.
Blockchain/Cryptocurrencies
In 2018, we will be adding support for blockchain/cryptocurrencies.
Stay tuned for more information regarding these opportunities. Or, if you have would like to become a partner, please contact our support team.

Thank you to all of our customers for making 2017 our best year yet. Hope you are just as excited as we are for 2018 and what’s in store :)!
