Senior People Operations Partner
Prague, Czechia
Make is the leading visual platform for anyone to design, build, and automate anything—from tasks and workflows to apps and systems—without the need for coding skills. We are headquartered in the flourishing tech hub of Prague, Czech Republic, and our teams are spread across the USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, India and Chile, among other locations.
We are looking for a proactive and dependable Senior People Operations Partner to join our People & Culture team. This is a key, hands-on role combining strategic ownership with day-to-day operational excellence. You will be the primary point of contact for all People Operations activities related to our Czech employee population, responsible for driving compliant, high-quality processes while also executing them with precision and care.
You’ll own core HR operations including payroll, benefits, contract administration, and leave management, while also maintaining and improving our global HR systems (primarily Workday). This role is ideal for someone who brings a strong working knowledge of Czech labor law and employment practices, thrives in both advisory and execution capacities, and takes full accountability for results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll & Compliance Management: Fully own and manage the monthly payroll for Czech employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strict compliance with local labor laws and GDPR. This includes liaison with authorities and maintaining all HR documentation.
- Benefits & Leave Administration: Lead the full scope of benefits administration and leave of absence processes (e.g., sick, parental) for Czech employees, acting as the primary contact for providers and ensuring clear communication.
- Policy & Legal Alignment: Collaborate on the localization and implementation of HR policies for the Czech Republic, ensuring legal compliance and acting as the internal expert on Czech labor law.
- Employee Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle in Workday, from compliant onboarding and offboarding to supporting job changes and relocation processes.
- HR Systems & Data Integrity: Act as a power user for Workday and other HR systems, responsible for configuration, maintenance, and ensuring accurate personnel data while supporting global system scalability.
- Stakeholder Guidance & Communication: Provide clear, professional guidance to employees, managers, and HR colleagues on Czech HR practices, benefits, and policies, ensuring excellent communication in both Czech and English.
Requiremetns:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years in HR Operations or similar, ideally in a multinational environment, with experience managing Czech employment processes independently.
- Solid knowledge of Czech labor law, payroll processes, and compliance requirements.
- Highly detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.
- Experience with HR systems like Workday, UKG, or SAP; able to troubleshoot, train others, and optimize usage.
- Excellent attention to detail, structured approach to work, and strong ownership mentality.
- Clear, professional communication skills in Czech and English—capable of working with both employees and authorities with confidence.
- Comfortable balancing independent decision-making with close collaboration in a global team environment.
