Understanding what a connection does
A connection is like building a secure bridge between Make and your other apps such as Anthropic Claude and ClickUp. It allows these applications to safely communicate and share information with each other. Before you can automate any tasks, you need to set up this connection so the apps can work together.
Getting your API key from Anthropic Claude
An API key is a special password that gives Make permission to access your Anthropic Claude account. To find it, log in to your Anthropic Claude console and click on the key icon in the bottom-left corner. Then click '+ Create Key', select your workspace, give it a name, and immediately copy and save the key somewhere safe since you won't be able to view it again.
Connecting Anthropic Claude to Make
Log in to Make and add an Anthropic Claude module to your automation. When you add the module, click 'Create a connection' to start linking Make with Anthropic Claude. You'll have the option to give your connection a name, which helps you identify it later, then paste your API key in the designated field and click 'Save' to complete the connection.
Connecting ClickUp to Make
Add a ClickUp module to your Make scenario and click 'Create a connection' when prompted. You can give your connection a descriptive name to help you keep track of it, especially if you plan to use multiple connections. After entering the basic details, click 'Save' and Make will ask you to log in to your ClickUp account to authorize the connection.
