How to setup Engage AI and Discord in 5 easy steps
Choose your connection method for Discord
Discord offers two ways to connect with Make: a standard method that works well for most automation tasks, or a custom method that gives you more control if you need additional features. Most users will find the standard method quick to set up.
Connect Discord using the standard method
Open any Discord module in Make and click the button to create a new connection. You'll see a list of your Discord servers—just pick the one you want to automate, approve the permissions for messages and channels, and click authorize to complete the setup in seconds.
Set up your Discord bot
If you're using the custom connection method, you'll need to create a bot in the Discord developer portal by clicking 'Add Bot' and giving it a name that fits your automation needs. Once created, generate your bot token by clicking 'Reset' and save this token safely, as you'll need it to connect your bot to Make.
Link your bot to Make
In Make, open a Discord module and click 'Add' next to the connection field. Enter your bot token and client credentials that you obtained from Discord, select the permissions your automation needs, and click 'Save' to establish the connection between Discord and Make.
