How to setup Vapi and WhatsApp Business Cloud in 5 easy steps
Get your Vapi API key from your dashboard
Sign in to your Vapi account and look for the 'Build' section in the left sidebar. Click on 'Vapi API Keys' to find your Private Key, which is like a special password that lets Make talk to your Vapi account. If you don't see a key yet, click 'Add Key' to create one. Copy this key and keep it safe somewhere - you'll need it in the next step to connect everything together.
Connect Vapi to your Make scenario
Open your Make account and go to the scenario where you want to use Vapi. Add a Vapi module and click 'Create a connection' to start linking the two services. You'll see a field asking for your API Key - paste the Private Key you copied from Vapi earlier. You can also give your connection a memorable name to find it later. Click 'Save' and follow any prompts to complete the setup.
Add WhatsApp Business Cloud to your Make scenario
In your Make account, add a WhatsApp Business Cloud module to your scenario. Click 'Create a connection' to begin linking Make with WhatsApp Business Cloud. Select 'WhatsApp Business Cloud' as your connection type and give it a name if you'd like. This tells Make exactly which service you're connecting to.
Log in with Facebook to authorize WhatsApp
You'll need to log in with your Facebook account since WhatsApp Business Cloud is part of Meta's business tools. Follow the steps on screen to authenticate and select your business information. During this process, you'll set up or choose your WhatsApp Business account and create your business profile. If you already have a number in the WhatsApp Business App, you can connect that existing account.
Finalize your WhatsApp Business Cloud connection
Complete any final authentication steps to confirm your connection. If you see an error message, simply try connecting again - your business accounts are already created from your first attempt. When you retry, just select your existing Facebook Business Account and WhatsApp Business Account from the list instead of making new ones. Once confirmed, your connection is ready to use in your Make scenarios.
