Install the Make Connector Plugin in WordPress
To connect WordPress with Make, you first need to add a special plugin called Make Connector to your WordPress site. Go to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins, and search for "Make Connector" in the plugin directory. Install and activate it with just a few clicks. Once activated, you'll see a new Make menu appear in your WordPress sidebar, which means the plugin is ready to help your site communicate with Make.
Get your WordPress API key
After installing the Make Connector plugin, you need to retrieve a unique security code called an API key from WordPress. In your WordPress dashboard, click on the Make Connector menu and look for the API Key section in the General Settings tab. Click "Reveal" to display your key, then copy it and save it somewhere safe—you'll need this code in the next steps. Think of this API key as a special password that allows Make to securely access and work with your WordPress site.
Subscribe to a Leonardo.Ai API plan
Before connecting Leonardo.Ai to Make, you'll need to activate API access in your Leonardo.Ai account by subscribing to an API plan. Log into Leonardo.Ai, find the API Access section, and click to subscribe to a plan that fits your needs. This subscription activates the technical features that allow Make to communicate with Leonardo.Ai. Once you've completed the subscription, you'll be able to access the API management area where you can create your connection key.
Generate your Leonardo.Ai API key
With your API plan active, the next step is to create an API key for Leonardo.Ai. Go to the API Access Page in your Leonardo.Ai account and click "Create New Key" to generate a unique security code. Copy this key immediately and store it in a safe location, as you'll need it to complete the connection setup in Make. Connect your apps in Make
Now you're ready to link both applications to Make. Log into your Make account and add either a WordPress or Leonardo.Ai module to your automation scenario. Click "Create a connection" and enter the required information: for WordPress, paste your API key and your website's REST API URL (your site address followed by /wp-/); for Leonardo.Ai, simply paste the API key you generated.
