Retrieve customer context in Claude

Pull account, plan, usage, and error logs from internal systems into Claude, giving reps AI agent assist and AI log analysis for faster AI customer support.

Useful for
Customer support reps and technical support engineers investigating account, usage, and error issues, and support team leads who need investigations resolved with full customer context.

Copied

When a support rep asks Claude for more context during an investigation, Claude acts as an AI agent and calls the scenario with an on demand trigger via the Make MCP connection, providing 'customer_id' and 'timeframe' as scenario inputs. The scenario retrieves the account profile and plan details from [customer account database or internal admin API], pulls usage metrics against plan limits from [usage analytics system or internal usage API], and fetches recent error and execution logs for the given time range from [logging or observability platform], then merges the results into one structured response which is mapped to a Scenarios > Return output module in a field called 'results' so Claude can read the scenario response.

Problem

Support reps investigating a customer issue have to leave their conversation, log into several internal tools, and look up the customer's account, plan, usage, and recent error logs by hand. Piecing this context together across systems slows the investigation, breaks the rep's focus, and leads to answers based on incomplete information.

Solution

When a support rep asks Claude for more context during an investigation, Claude acts as an AI agent and decides to call the automation as a tool, passing the customer ID and an optional time range. The automation retrieves the account profile and plan details, pulls usage metrics against plan limits, and fetches recent error and execution logs from internal systems, then merges the results into one structured response and returns it to the agent to analyze within the conversation.

Resolve support inquiries from knowledge base

When a customer sends a question through the support chatbot, an AI agent determines how to resolve it, querying the internal knowledge base to find relevant documentation, and deciding when the available knowledge is insufficient and a web search is needed to enrich its response. The agent adapts its research approach based on the nature and complexity of each inquiry rather than following a fixed lookup sequence, then replies to the customer in the chat.

Route support tickets to specialists

When a new ticket arrives from any channel, the automation captures the ticket content and customer context, uses AI to categorize the issue type and complexity level, routes the ticket to the appropriate team or agent using predefined assignment rules, then uses AI to analyze the ticket against the knowledge base and previous resolutions to suggest the most relevant articles or solutions that match the issue, delivering these suggestions directly to the assigned agent.

Collect satisfaction feedback on resolved tickets

When a support ticket's status changes to resolved in the helpdesk, the automation reads the customer's name, email, ticket ID, and assigned support agent, then emails the customer a satisfaction survey with a link tied to that ticket. It records the survey send on the ticket and adds a row to a feedback tracking sheet with the ticket details and send date.
