Top 2024 release highlights

The world around us is changing at lightning speed — and so are customer expectations.

Businesses right now are juggling countless processes, from engaging new leads to resolving customer issues, onboarding employees, and financial reporting — all amidst the pressure of delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining a competitive edge.

Here at Make, we know that staying ahead of constant change requires constant innovation.

That’s why at Waves ‘24, our biggest customer event to date, we announced an array of exciting new product capabilities during engaging sessions with Make leadership and product experts. Waves ‘24 was the perfect opportunity for Makers to discover how to put these features to work and become a true super user.

Let’s explore each of the product features that we’ve released this year as well as our objectives behind how we’re building Make’s future.

3 core pillars: Our foundation for innovation

Throughout this year, we've remained focused on three core pillars to help businesses stay ahead. These pillars will help us foster innovation and agility across tools, systems, teams, and partners.

  1. Solution speed. Customers need to create solutions quickly, and ensure those solutions can scale.

  2. Business agility. Customers must adapt to changes in their market, economy, vendors, or customers by fostering a culture of experimentation, learning and ongoing improvement.

  3. Shared ownership. Customers must strike the balance between democratized engagement and effective governance through shared ownership.

By focusing on these pillars, we’re committed to delivering even greater value to Make customers. But before we dive into what’s next, let’s take a moment to celebrate the highlights of our 2024 releases.

Empowering the build

We’ve focused on providing new features and functionality that empower you to build faster and better.

  • New Navigation. We moved to a two-pane vertical menu designed to help users find what they need faster. Now in closed beta.

  • Subscenarios. We launched subscenarios so you can quickly pass data from one scenario to another, enhancing debugging and helping you visualize connections. Now launched and available on all plans (Relation-tree is Pro plan and above).

  • Notes. Enhanced Notes offer full formatting and are accessible in the scenario editor, making it easier to capture ideas and improve documentation for faster, better, and collaborative builds. Coming soon to all plans.

  • Editable Keys & Connections. Edit keys and connections once and deploy updates across all scenarios, eliminating the need for one-by-one edits. Now launched and available on all plans.

Setting up for scale

We’ve added key observability and governance features to help you scale confidently and onboard more people with ease.

  • Audit Logs. Gain full visibility into user activities with tools for transparency and accountability. Audit actions to enhance security, drive accountability, and ensure compliance. Now available on our Enterprise plan.

  • Analytics. Access a centralized view of operations usage by teams and scenarios, offering transparency and insights into key metrics. Now available on our Enterprise plan.

Embracing AI

OpenAI has quickly become a top app at Make. Our AI team has focused on finding ways to make it easier for customers to unlock its full potential.

  • Make AI Tools. Our built-in Make AI Tool puts the most common AI actions at your fingertips so you can analyze, categorize, standardize or summarize information, without spending lots of time setting up prompts. Now in closed beta.

  • Fill by AI. Translate plain language into in-stream automation logic for faster, smarter builds. Now available in beta in the build flow.

  • Human in the Loop. Integrate human decision into both AI-driven and manual workflows, balancing automation with control. Now in closed beta.

  • New AI apps. Throughout the past several months, we’ve launched a selection of top AI app integrations on Make — including OpenAI, Perplexity AI, and Anthropic Claude  — which are now available and ready for experimenting with.

Make Grid

Last, but certainly not least — we released Make Grid earlier this month at Waves ‘24.
