How to setup Airtable and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Choose how you'll connect Airtable to Make
When linking Airtable to Make, you can choose between two methods: OAuth or Personal Access Token. OAuth is the more straightforward option that guides you through granting permission to specific databases, while Personal Access Token uses a special code from your Airtable account. For most users, OAuth makes it easier to get started since it walks you through each step of the authorization process.
Set up your Airtable connection with OAuth
Add an Airtable module to your Make workflow and click the Add button next to the connection field. Select OAuth as your connection method and give it a name you'll remember. An authorization screen will appear—click Add a base, choose which Airtable database you want Make to access, then click Grant access. This creates a secure link between Make and your chosen Airtable data.
Get your Perplexity AI access key
To connect Perplexity AI to Make, you'll need an API key from your Perplexity AI account. Log in to Perplexity AI, click the Settings icon, and select API from the sidebar. Create a new API group by entering the required information, then go to the API Keys tab and click Create Key. Copy this key immediately and save it somewhere safe—you'll need it in the next step and won't be able to view it again later.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
In your Make account, add a Perplexity AI module to your workflow and click Create a connection. A form will appear asking for your credentials—paste the API key you copied from Perplexity AI into the API Key field. Make sure the entire key is copied correctly without extra spaces, then click Save. This establishes the connection and allows Make to communicate with your Perplexity AI account.
