How to setup Google Docs and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Add your app to your workflow
Log into your Make account and add the app you want to use (like Google Docs or Perplexity AI) to your workflow. When you add the app module, you'll see a button to create a new connection—this is where you'll link the app to Make so they can work together.
Give your connection a name
Choose a clear, memorable name for your connection that helps you identify it later. This optional step is especially helpful if you plan to connect multiple accounts or apps, as it keeps your workspace organized and makes it easier to find the right connection when you need it.
Choose your connection method
Depending on the app, you'll connect in one of two ways: either by signing in with your account credentials (like with Google Docs) or by using a special API key (like with Perplexity AI). The API key is a secure code that allows Make to access your app safely—you can find or generate this key in your app's settings.
Complete the connection process
If using an API key, copy it from your app's settings and paste it carefully into Make's connection window. If signing in directly, click the sign-in button and log in through the secure window that appears. Either way, you may need to approve permissions that allow Make to work with your data, such as accessing your documents or generating content.
Save and start using your connection
Click the 'Save' button to finalize your connection. Make will quickly test it to ensure everything works properly, and you'll see a confirmation message when it's successful.
