How to setup Google Drive and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Add your app module in Make
Sign into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to create an automation. Search for the app you want to connect, such as Google Drive or Perplexity AI, and add its module to your workspace. You'll see a button to create a new connection, which is your starting point for linking Make with the application you want to use.
Start the connection process
After adding the app module to your scenario, click the "Create a connection" button that appears. This tells Make you're ready to link your external app account. A connection window will open where you can optionally give your connection a descriptive name like "My Work Google Drive" to help you identify it later if you manage multiple connections.
Get your API key from Perplexity AI
For Perplexity AI connections, you'll need an API key. Log into your Perplexity AI account and click the settings icon next to your username. Navigate to the API section in the sidebar and generate a new API key. Copy this key immediately and store it safely, as you'll need to paste it into Make to complete the connection.
Sign in with Google for Google Drive
When connecting Google Drive, click the "Sign in with Google" button that appears in the connection window. You'll be redirected to Google's login page where you enter your email and password. After signing in, review the permissions screen that shows what Make needs to access, then click to approve these permissions so your automation can work properly.
Save and start using your connection
Once you've entered your API key for Perplexity AI or completed the Google sign-in process, click the "Save" button at the bottom of the connection window. Make will test the connection to ensure everything works correctly. After successful confirmation, your connected app is ready to use in your scenarios, and Make will save this connection for future use across all your automations.
