How to setup Google Slides and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Add a module and start creating your connection
Begin by logging into your Make account and opening your automation scenario. Add either a Google Slides or Perplexity AI module to your workspace, then click the 'Create a connection' button that appears. This starts the process of linking your chosen app to Make so they can work together.
Give your connection a memorable name
When the connection window opens, you'll see an optional field to name your connection. Choose a descriptive name like 'My Google Slides Work Account' or 'Perplexity Research Connection' so you can easily identify it later. This is especially helpful if you plan to connect multiple accounts from the same service.
Connect Google Slides using your Google account
For Google Slides, click the 'Sign in with Google' button in the connection window. A new window will open asking you to select which Google account you want to use. Choose your account, review the permissions Make needs to access your presentations, and click to grant access. Once approved, you'll return to Make with your connection established.
Get your Perplexity AI API key
To connect Perplexity AI, you'll need an API key from your Perplexity account. Log in to Perplexity AI, click the Settings icon, and select 'API' from the sidebar. Generate a new API key by clicking '+ Create Key' and copy the long string of characters that appears. Store this key safely as you'll need it for the next step and won't be able to view it again.
Enter your API key and save the connection
Return to Make and paste your copied Perplexity AI API key into the 'API Key' field in the connection window. Make sure the entire key is pasted without extra spaces. Click the 'Save' button, and Make will test the connection to confirm everything works properly. Once successful, your app is connected and ready to use in your automations.
