How to setup HubSpot CRM and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Add your app module to your Make scenario
Log into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to create your automation. Find the app you want to connect, such as HubSpot CRM or Perplexity AI, and add its module to your workflow by clicking on it. Once the module appears in your scenario, you'll see an option to create a connection. This connection is what allows Make to communicate with your chosen app and access the information you need for your automation to work properly.
Click the create a connection button
After adding your app module, look for the 'Create a connection' button within the module settings and click it. This button starts the process of linking Make with your external application. This step is essential because it initiates the secure link between Make and the app you want to connect. The button is usually straightforward to find and clearly labeled within the module interface.
Get your API key from the app
Before you can complete the connection in Make, you need to obtain an API key from the application you're connecting to. Think of an API key as a special password that gives Make permission to access your account in that specific app. You can usually find this key in the app's settings or API section. For example, in Perplexity AI, you would go to Settings, find the API section, and generate a new key. Copy this key carefully as you'll need it in the next step.
Enter your API key in Make and save
Go back to Make and find the API Key field in the connection setup window. Paste the API key you copied from your app into this field, making sure you don't include any extra spaces or miss any characters. You can also give your connection a descriptive name like 'HubSpot Main Account' to help you identify it later. Once everything is filled in correctly, click the 'Save' button to store your connection settings and begin the authentication process.
Authenticate and start using your connection
After saving, you may need to log into your external app in a pop-up window to confirm that you want to grant Make access to your account. Review any permissions that appear and click 'Allow' or 'Confirm' to complete the connection. Once authenticated, Make will confirm your connection is active and ready to use. You can now select this connection whenever you add modules from your connected app to build automations that work between Make and your other applications.
