How to setup Manychat and OpenAI (ChatGPT, Sora, DALL-E, Whisper) in 5 easy steps
Get your Manychat API token
Start by logging into your Manychat account and going to Settings, then API. Click the 'Generate Your Token' button to create a unique key that will allow Make to connect with your Manychat account. Copy this token right away and keep it somewhere safe, as you'll need it in the next step to link the two platforms together.
Connect Manychat to Make
Open Make and click on any Manychat module to begin the connection process. Click on the connection field and paste the API token you copied from Manychat into the designated space. Click 'Continue' to establish the link between Make and Manychat, which you can then reuse for all your future automations without having to reconnect.
Set up a webhook to listen for data
Add the 'Watch Incoming Data' module as the first step in your Make automation. Give your webhook a name that helps you remember what it's for later. This module works like a receiver that waits for Manychat to send information whenever someone interacts with your chatbot in a specific way.
Create a trigger button in your chatbot
Go to your Manychat account and open the chat flow where you want automation to happen. Add a button or quick reply that your users can click on. In the button settings, scroll down and click 'Add Action', then select 'Trigger Make' to set up the connection that will send user information to Make whenever someone clicks this button.
Link your button to the webhook
In the 'Trigger Make' action settings, click on the field and select the webhook you created earlier in Make. This connects your Manychat button directly to your Make automation. Now whenever a user clicks this button in your chatbot, it will automatically start your automation and send their information to Make for further processing.
