How to setup Microsoft 365 Email (Outlook) and Google Vertex AI (Gemini) in 5 easy steps
Start the connection process in Make
Log into your Make account and add the app module you want to use in your automation. Click the 'Create a connection' button to begin setting up the link between Make and your chosen application. You can give your connection a custom name to easily identify it later when you're working with multiple integrations.
Create a new project in Google Cloud Platform
Go to the Google Cloud Platform website and sign in with your Google account. Click 'Create or select a project' and then 'New project' to set up a workspace for your connection. Give your project a descriptive name, choose its location, and click 'Create' to finish setting it up.
Enable the Vertex AI API for your project
Once your project is created, make sure it's selected from the dropdown menu at the top of the page. Navigate to 'APIs & Services' and then 'Library' in the left menu. Search for 'Vertex AI Gemini API', click on it, and press the 'Enable' button to activate it for your project so Make can communicate with Google's AI services.
Set up OAuth credentials for secure connection
In the Google Cloud Platform sidebar, go to 'Google Auth Platform' and click 'Get Started'. Enter 'Make' as the app name, provide your Gmail address, and select 'External' for the audience. Add 'make.com' and 'integromat.com' as authorized domains to tell Google which websites can safely connect to your project.
Generate and connect your credentials in Make
Create a new OAuth client by selecting 'Web application' as the type and adding the redirect URI that Make provides. Copy the 'Client ID' and 'Client Secret' that appear and save them securely. Return to Make, click 'Sign in with Google', enter your credentials, and authorize Make to access your Google services to complete the connection.
