    FAQ

By connecting Microsoft 365 Excel with Perplexity AI through Make, you can automatically send questions or data points from your spreadsheets to Perplexity AI and receive AI-powered research responses directly back into your Excel sheets. This integration eliminates manual copying and pasting, allowing you to enrich your data with intelligent insights, validate information, or generate summaries at scale. For example, you could automatically research company information, fact-check data entries, or generate market insights for rows of data in your spreadsheet, saving hours of manual research time.

There are numerous powerful use cases for this integration: You can automatically enrich customer or lead data by researching company information; validate and fact-check data entries in your spreadsheets; generate market research summaries for lists of products or competitors; create automated content briefs by researching topics listed in Excel; build competitive analysis reports by querying information about multiple companies; or even automate due diligence processes by researching entities in bulk. Make's visual workflow builder lets you set up these automations without coding, triggering Perplexity AI queries based on new Excel rows, updated cells, or scheduled intervals.

No programming knowledge is required. Make provides a user-friendly, visual interface where you can create integrations using a drag-and-drop approach. You simply select Microsoft 365 Excel as your trigger (for example, when a new row is added), then add Perplexity AI as an action to process that data, and finally send the results back to Excel. Make handles all the technical connections between the applications, and you can map data fields visually. The platform offers pre-built modules for both applications, templates to get started quickly, and extensive documentation to guide you through the setup process, making automation accessible to everyone.

The efficiency gains are substantial. Manual research typically requires opening multiple browser tabs, copying data between applications, and spending significant time on repetitive tasks. With Make's integration, you can automate these processes to run in the background or on a schedule, processing dozens or hundreds of queries simultaneously. What might take hours or days manually can be completed in minutes. Additionally, Make ensures consistency in how data is collected and formatted, reduces human error, and frees your team to focus on analysis and decision-making rather than data gathering. The integration also creates an auditable workflow where you can track, modify, and scale your research processes as your needs grow.

A scenario represents a workflow or a project of your own creation, and it is made up of a series of modules that automate apps and services. Creating a scenario allows you to transfer and transform data between apps and services via these modules to automate anything and improve the way you work.

Modules are the main building blocks of automation in Make. Modules represent actions that Make performs with an app, like creating, updating, or deleting data.
