Build your Notion and Anthropic Claude integrations.

Connect Anthropic Claude and Notion through Make's automation platform by using Anthropic Claude as a trigger and Notion as an action. When specific events occur in Anthropic Claude—such as creating or updating a database item or page—these changes trigger automated workflows that send data to Notion. Notion then acts on this information by generating content, analyzing data, or creating responses based on the triggered Anthropic Claude events. For example, when a new item is added to a Anthropic Claude database, it can automatically trigger Notion to generate summaries, create documentation, or produce AI-powered content that can be stored back in Anthropic Claude or used elsewhere in your workflow. This trigger-action integration enables you to automate content creation and information processing by having Anthropic Claude events initiate Notion's AI capabilities.

How to setup Notion and Anthropic Claude in 5 easy steps

  • 1

Get your Anthropic Claude API key

Before you can connect Anthropic Claude to Make, you'll need an API key from your Anthropic Claude account. Log into your Anthropic Claude console and look for the key icon in the bottom-left corner. Click it to access your API keys section, then click the '+ Create Key' button. Give your key a name you'll remember, create it, and immediately copy and save it somewhere safe—you won't be able to see it again once you close the window.

  • 2

    Connect Anthropic Claude to Make

Once you have your API key, log into your Make account and add an Anthropic Claude module to your automation. When prompted, click 'Create a connection' and paste the API key you saved earlier into the API Key field. You can give your connection a memorable name to help identify it later, then click 'Save' to complete the setup and start using Anthropic Claude in your automations.

  • 3

    Create your Notion integration token

To connect Notion to Make using the Internal method, start by logging into your Notion account. Navigate to 'Settings & Members', then 'Connections', and click 'Develop or manage integrations'. Click 'New Integration', select your workspace, and give it a descriptive name before clicking 'Submit'. After creating the integration, go to the 'Secrets' tab, click 'Show' next to your token, and copy it immediately to save in a secure location.

  • 4

Connect Notion to Make using internal connection

In Make, add a Notion module to your automation scenario and click 'Create a connection'. From the connection type dropdown menu, select 'Notion Internal'. Paste the internal integration token you copied from Notion into the appropriate field, optionally give your connection a name you'll recognize, and click 'Save' to establish the connection between Make and your Notion workspace.

  • 5

Connect Notion using the public connection option

For a simpler setup, you can use Notion's Public connection method instead. In Make, add a Notion module and click 'Create a connection', then select 'Notion Public' from the dropdown menu. Give your connection a name if you'd like, then click 'Save'. Make will guide you through authentication and ask you to select which specific Notion pages or databases you want to grant access to, ensuring Make can only interact with the content you've approved.

    FAQ

By integrating Notion with Anthropic Claude on Make, you can automatically generate, enhance, and organize content directly in your Notion workspace. Claude can analyze your existing Notion pages, generate summaries, create new content based on your database entries, or even draft responses to meeting notes. With Claude's 100K+ token window, it can process entire Notion documents and provide comprehensive insights or transformations, all automated through Make's visual workflow builder without any coding required.

When you integrate Notion with Anthropic Claude via Make, you benefit from Claude's Constitutional AI framework designed to reduce brand risk and ensure safer outputs. Critically, Claude offers best-in-class data retention policies and does not train on your data, meaning your sensitive Notion content remains private and secure. Make acts as the secure bridge between these applications, allowing you to automate workflows while maintaining complete control over your data and ensuring compliance with your organization's security requirements.

Absolutely! Make enables you to create sophisticated automations where Claude analyzes information from various sources and intelligently updates your Notion databases. For example, Claude can process customer feedback, extract key insights, categorize issues, and automatically create or update Notion database entries with structured information. You can also have Claude monitor specific Notion pages, perform multi-step analysis on the content, and trigger updates across your workspace based on its findings—all without writing a single line of code.

Setting up integrations on Make is designed to be user-friendly, even for non-technical users. Make provides a visual, drag-and-drop interface where you simply connect Notion and Claude modules like building blocks. You'll authenticate both applications once, then configure what triggers the automation (like a new Notion page) and what action Claude should take (like summarizing content or generating ideas). Make offers pre-built templates and clear documentation to get you started quickly. Most users can create their first working automation within minutes, and you can start with a free Make account to explore the possibilities before committing.

A scenario represents a workflow or a project of your own creation, and it is made up of a series of modules that automate apps and services. Creating a scenario allows you to transfer and transform data between apps and services via these modules to automate anything and improve the way you work.

Modules are the main building blocks of automation in Make. Modules represent actions that Make performs with an app, like creating, updating, or deleting data.
