Gather your WeChat credentials
To connect WeChat to Make, you first need to collect two important pieces of information from your WeChat Official Account: your AppID (also called Client ID) and your AppSecret (also called Client Secret). Log into your WeChat public platform, navigate to the Developer section, and open Basic Configuration. Here you'll find your AppID displayed, and you can generate your AppSecret by clicking the Reset button. Copy both of these codes carefully as you'll need them in the next steps.
Set up the callback address
When connecting WeChat to Make, you may be asked to enter a callback URI in your WeChat settings. This is a web address that allows the two platforms to communicate with each other securely. If prompted, paste this address into the appropriate field in WeChat: https://www.make.com/oauth/cb/wechat. This step ensures that WeChat knows where to send information when Make requests access to your account.
Add WeChat to your Make workflow
Once you have your credentials ready, open your Make account and add the WeChat Official Account module to your automation scenario. This module represents WeChat in your workflow and will perform actions or retrieve data from your account. After adding the module, you'll see an option to create a new connection, which is where you'll enter the credentials you gathered earlier.
Create the connection in Make
Click the 'Create a connection' button within the WeChat module you just added to your scenario. A form will appear asking for your connection details. You can give your connection a custom name to help you identify it later, then paste in the Client ID and Client Secret that you copied from your WeChat account into the corresponding fields.
Complete and test the connection
After entering your WeChat credentials into Make, follow any remaining on-screen instructions to finalize the connection. Make will establish a secure link between the two platforms, allowing them to work together in your automated workflows. Once connected, the WeChat module in your Make scenario will be able to access and use your WeChat Official Account data as configured in your automation.
