How to setup Perplexity AI and Airtable in 5 easy steps
Add your app module in Make
Log into your Make account and open the scenario where you want to work. Add either an Airtable or Perplexity AI module to start building your automation. Once you've added the module, you'll see a connection field with an 'Add' or 'Create a connection' button—click this to begin linking Make with your chosen app.
Choose your connection method
When connecting Airtable, you can choose between OAuth or Personal Access Token. OAuth is the option that lets you grant access directly through Airtable's interface without copying codes. For Perplexity AI, you'll need an API key from your account. Select the connection method that works best for you and proceed to the next step.
Name your connection
Give your connection a descriptive name like 'My Airtable Workspace' or 'Company Perplexity Account' so you can identify it later. This optional step becomes especially helpful when you're managing multiple connections to the same app. Clear names make it easier to organize your automations and find the right connection when you need it.
Provide your access credentials
For Airtable OAuth, you'll be redirected to select which base you want Make to access, then click 'Grant access' to complete the connection. If using a Personal Access Token or Perplexity API key, paste the token or key you copied from the respective app into the designated field in Make. Make sure you've copied the entire credential correctly without any extra spaces or missing characters.
Save and start automating
Click the 'Save' button to finalize your connection. Make will verify that your credentials work and that it can communicate with the app successfully. Once you see a success message, your connection is ready to use in any automation scenario, and you can select it from the dropdown menu whenever you add a module for that app.
