How to setup Perplexity AI and Canvas LMS in 5 easy steps
Get your Canvas LMS access token
Log into Canvas LMS and click on your profile in the top right corner, then select Settings. Scroll down to find the Approved Integrations section and generate a new API token, which is a special code that lets Make connect to your Canvas account. Copy this token and keep it safe for the next step.
Connect Canvas LMS to Make
Open your Make account and add a Canvas LMS module to your workflow. Click the Create a connection button when prompted, then paste the API token you copied from Canvas into the authentication field. You can give your connection a name to help you remember it later, then save your connection.
Generate your Perplexity AI API key
Sign into Perplexity AI and click the Settings icon next to your username. Navigate to the API section in the left sidebar, create a new API group, then go to the API Keys tab and click Create Key. Copy this key immediately and store it securely, as you'll need it to connect with Make.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
In your Make account, add a Perplexity AI module to your scenario and click Create a connection. Paste the API key you copied from Perplexity AI into the API Key field. You can optionally name this connection for quick identification, then save your settings to complete the connection.
Confirm and start using your connections
After entering all required information for both applications, click Save to finalize each connection. If prompted, authenticate and confirm that you want to grant Make access to these applications. Once both connections are saved, you can start building automated workflows that connect Canvas LMS and Perplexity AI together.
