How to setup Perplexity AI and LinkedIn in 5 easy steps
Add your app module and start the connection
Log into your Make account and open your scenario workspace. Find either LinkedIn or Perplexity AI from the available apps and add its module to your workflow. Once added, you'll see a button to create a new connection—click it to begin linking Make with your chosen application. This is your first step to getting the two platforms talking to each other.
Get your Perplexity AI API key
Before connecting Perplexity AI, you need an API key from your account. Log into Perplexity AI, click the Settings icon next to your username, and select API from the menu. Create a new API group and add your payment details (you won't be charged yet). Then navigate to the API Keys section and click 'Create Key' to generate your unique access key. Copy this key immediately and store it somewhere safe like a password manager, as you'll only see it once.
Enter your credentials in Make
Return to the Make connection window and paste your API key into the designated field for Perplexity AI. For LinkedIn, you'll log in directly through a popup window and grant Make permission to access your account. Make sure there are no extra spaces when pasting your API key, as this can cause errors. This information allows Make to securely communicate with your chosen application whenever your automation runs.
Save and authenticate your connection
Click the 'Save' button to store your connection settings in Make. The platform will verify that your credentials work properly by testing the connection. For LinkedIn, you'll need to confirm in a popup that you're allowing Make to access your account. For Perplexity AI, authentication happens automatically using your API key. Wait patiently as this process completes—for some apps like LinkedIn, it can take up to 5 minutes for all permissions to activate properly.
Start automating with your connected apps
Once the connection is successfully established, you're ready to use the app in your Make scenarios. You can now select this connection whenever you add a module for LinkedIn or Perplexity AI, and Make will automatically use the credentials you configured. Your automations can now exchange data with the connected application. If you need to change any settings later, you can manage your connections through Make's connection management area.
