Connect Perplexity AI and Slack integrations

Get your Perplexity AI access key

Before you can connect Perplexity AI to Make, you'll need an API key from your Perplexity AI account. Log into Perplexity AI, click the Settings icon next to your username, and navigate to the API section. Create a new API group, add your payment details, then go to the API Keys tab and click 'Create Key' to generate your unique key. Once your API key appears, copy it immediately and save it somewhere safe like a password manager or note-taking app. You'll need this key in the next step to complete the connection between Perplexity AI and Make, and you won't be able to see it again later.

Connect Perplexity AI to Make

Log into your Make account and add a Perplexity AI module to your automation. When prompted, click 'Create a connection' and you'll see a form. You can give your connection a name to help you remember what it's for, or leave it with the default name. Paste the API key you copied from Perplexity AI into the API Key field and click Save. Make will check that the key works and establish the connection. Once it's set up, you can use this connection in any future automations without having to enter the key again.

Check your Slack workspace permissions

Before connecting Slack to Make, it's important to know that some Slack workspaces have restrictions on what apps can be connected. Your Workspace Owner might require approval for new connections or only allow certain types of apps to connect. Make requires proper permissions since it's not available in the Slack marketplace. If you run into any errors when trying to connect Slack, reach out to your Slack Workspace Owner or Admin. They can adjust the workspace settings to allow Make to connect to your Slack workspace so your automations can work properly.

Connect Slack to Make

To connect Slack, log into Make and add a Slack module to your automation scenario. Click 'Create a connection' to start the setup. You can give your connection a descriptive name to help you identify it later, especially if you'll be connecting multiple Slack workspaces. After clicking Save, Make will open a new window asking you to authenticate your Slack account. If you have access to multiple workspaces, make sure to select the correct one in the top-right corner before granting Make permission. Once you approve the connection, it's ready to use in your automations.

Reuse your connections across automations

Once you've created a connection for Perplexity AI or Slack, you can use it in as many automations as you want without setting it up again. Every time you add a module for one of these apps, just select your existing connection from a dropdown menu instead of creating a new one. This saves you time and keeps everything organized. If you need to connect multiple Slack workspaces or different accounts, you can create separate connections and give each one a unique name so you can tell them apart when building your automations.
