How to setup Perplexity AI and Telegram Bot in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI API key
Sign into Perplexity AI and go to your account settings by clicking the Settings icon next to your username. Navigate to the API section in the left sidebar, create a new API group, then generate your API key by clicking the Create Key button. Copy this key and save it somewhere safe, as you'll need it to connect Perplexity AI with Make.
Add payment information to Perplexity AI
Before using the Perplexity AI API, you'll need to enter your payment details in your Perplexity AI account. This step simply stores your payment information for billing purposes and won't charge your card immediately. This is required to activate API access for your connection.
Create your Telegram bot and get the token
Open Telegram and search for BotFather, which is Telegram's official bot creation tool. Send the command /newbot to BotFather and follow the prompts to choose a username for your bot. Once completed, BotFather will provide you with a bot token—copy this token and keep it secure, as you'll need it to connect your bot to Make.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
Log into your Make account and add a Perplexity AI module to your automation scenario. Click the Create a connection button, give your connection a name if desired, and paste the API key you saved earlier into the API Key field. Click Save to establish the connection between Perplexity AI and Make.
Connect your Telegram bot to Make
Add a Telegram Bot module to your Make scenario and click Create a connection. Enter an optional connection name and paste your bot token into the Token field. Click Save to complete the connection. Your Perplexity AI and Telegram bot are now connected to Make and ready to work together in your automation workflows.
