Get your API key from Runway
To connect Runway with Make, you'll first need to get an API key from Runway. Log into your Runway Developer portal, find the API Keys section in your dashboard, and click '+ New API Key'. Give it a descriptive name like 'Make Connection' so you can easily identify it later. Once you click 'Create', Runway will show your new API key on the screen—copy it immediately and save it in a safe place like a password manager, as Runway will only display it once for security reasons.
Open your Make scenario
Log into your Make account and navigate to the scenario where you want to use Runway. A scenario is the automation workflow you're building in Make. Once you're in the right scenario, you'll need to add a Runway module to your workflow, which is the component that will allow Make to communicate with Runway.
Add a Runway module
Look for the option to add a new module to your workflow and select Runway from the list of available applications. When you add the Runway module, Make will automatically prompt you to set up a connection between the two platforms. This is the bridge that allows Make and Runway to work together securely.
Create the connection
Click the 'Create a connection' button when prompted. This will open a form where you'll enter the details needed to link Make with your Runway account. You can optionally give your connection a custom name to help you identify it if you have multiple connections in the future.
Enter your API key and save
In the connection form, paste the API key you copied from Runway earlier into the API Key field. Once you've entered the key, click 'Save' to complete the connection setup. If Make asks you to confirm access or authenticate, follow the prompts. Your Runway and Make accounts are now connected and ready to automate tasks together.
