How to setup Shopify and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI API key
Log into your Perplexity AI account and click on the Settings icon next to your username. Navigate to the API section from the left sidebar, create a new API group, and then go to the API Keys tab. Click the Create Key button to generate your unique API key, then copy and save it securely as you'll need it to connect with Make.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
Log into your Make account and add a Perplexity AI module to your automation workflow. When prompted, click Create a connection and paste the API key you copied from Perplexity AI into the API Key field. You can give your connection a memorable name to identify it later, then click Save to establish the connection.
Add a Shopify module to your workflow
In your Make account, add a Shopify module to your automation scenario. This module will serve as the connection point between your Shopify store and Make. When you add the module, you'll see an option to create a new connection—click on it to begin setting up your Shopify integration.
Enter your Shopify store information
Select the standard Shopify connection type from the dropdown menu. In the Domain field, enter only the unique part of your store address—for example, if your store is xyz.myshopify.com, just enter xyz. Optionally, you can name this connection for identification, then click Save to proceed.
Authorize and complete the setup
A new window will appear asking you to install the Make app in your Shopify store. Review the permissions that Make needs to access your store data and perform automated tasks, then click Install to approve. Once both Perplexity AI and Shopify connections show as active in your Make scenario, you're ready to build automated workflows between these two platforms.
