How to setup Email and Perplexity AI in 5 easy steps
Connect your Email account in Make
Sign in to your Make account and add an Email module to your workflow. Select 'Google Restricted' as your connection type if you're using Gmail, then save your settings. Follow any prompts to verify your identity and grant permissions. Your Email connection is now ready to use in your automations.
Get your Perplexity AI API key
Log in to your Perplexity AI account and click the Settings icon next to your username. Navigate to the 'API' section in the left sidebar where you'll manage your API access. This is where you'll generate the special key that allows Make to communicate with Perplexity AI.
Set up billing and create your API key
Enter your payment information in Perplexity AI to enable API usage. This won't charge you immediately but stores your details for future billing. Once that's done, go to the 'API Keys' tab and click '+ Create Key' to generate your unique API key.
Copy and secure your API key
After generating your API key, copy the key value that appears on your screen. Store this key somewhere safe where you can easily find it later. You'll need this exact key to complete the connection setup in Make, so make sure to keep it accessible.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
Return to Make and add a Perplexity AI module to your scenario. Click 'Create a connection' and paste your API key into the 'API Key' field. Double-check that the key is entered correctly without extra spaces, then click 'Save' to complete the connection. Your apps are now linked and ready to work together.
