Connect Freshdesk as a trigger and OpenAI (ChatGPT, Sora, Whisper) as an action to automate your customer support workflows. When OpenAI generates AI-powered responses, analyzes customer sentiment, transcribes voice content through Whisper, or creates visual content with DALL-E, these outputs automatically trigger actions in OpenAI (ChatGPT, Sora, Whisper) such as creating tickets, updating ticket information, adding notes to existing tickets, or generating draft responses. This integration enables you to use ChatGPT's natural language understanding and OpenAI's capabilities to automatically populate your OpenAI (ChatGPT, Sora, Whisper) helpdesk system, reducing response times and improving ticket management with AI-generated content and insights.

How to setup OpenAI (ChatGPT, Sora, Whisper) and Freshdesk in 5 easy steps
Get your Freshdesk API key
Before you can connect Freshdesk to Make, you'll need to retrieve your API key from Freshdesk. Log into your Freshdesk account, click on your profile picture in the top-right corner, go to Profile Settings, and click the View API key button in the sidebar. Copy this key and save it somewhere safe—you'll need it in the next steps to establish the connection.
Add a Freshdesk module in Make
Open your Make account and add a Freshdesk module to your automation workflow. This module acts as the bridge between Make and your Freshdesk account. Once you've added the module, you'll see a prompt to create a new connection—click on it to start the setup process.
Enter your connection details
In the connection setup window, you'll need to provide two pieces of information. First, paste the API key you copied from Freshdesk into the API key field. Second, enter your company name in the Company name field—this is just the unique part of your Freshdesk URL (for example, if your Freshdesk address is https://abc.freshdesk.com, enter only 'abc').
Save and verify your connection
After entering your API key and company name, click the Save button to complete the setup. Make will check the information you provided and create a secure connection between your Make account and Freshdesk. If everything is entered correctly, you'll receive a confirmation message that your connection was successful.
Start building your automation
With your connection established, you're now ready to use Freshdesk in your Make automations. You can create workflows that automatically perform tasks in Freshdesk or respond to events from your Freshdesk account. Your connection will stay active and ready to use whenever you need it in your automation scenarios.

FAQ
Integrating OpenAI with Freshdesk through Make allows you to automate intelligent customer support workflows. You can use GPT-4 or GPT-4o to automatically generate draft responses to customer tickets, categorize and prioritize support requests based on content analysis, summarize long ticket threads for agents, and even translate customer messages in real-time. This integration reduces response times, ensures consistent quality in customer communications, and frees up your support team to handle more complex issues that require human expertise.
Make enables powerful automation scenarios between OpenAI and Freshdesk without coding. You can automatically analyze incoming tickets with GPT-4 to detect sentiment and urgency, then route them to appropriate teams. Create workflows that generate personalized response templates based on ticket content and customer history. Use AI to suggest knowledge base articles to customers before creating tickets. You can even automate the creation of support documentation by having OpenAI analyze resolved tickets and generate FAQ entries that automatically update your Freshdesk knowledge base.
Make's visual workflow builder makes it straightforward to connect OpenAI and Freshdesk without any programming knowledge. You just need to authenticate both applications once, then use drag-and-drop modules to build your automation. Make provides pre-built modules for common actions like creating tickets in Freshdesk and sending prompts to OpenAI models. The platform includes templates and a testing environment so you can verify your workflows before going live. Most users can set up their first automation in under 30 minutes, and Make's extensive documentation and community support are available if you need guidance.
Make offers significant advantages over custom development or native integrations. Unlike building your own integration which requires ongoing maintenance, API management, and developer resources, Make handles all the technical complexity including authentication, error handling, and API rate limiting. You get access to both OpenAI's latest models (GPT-4o, o1, o3) and all Freshdesk features through ready-made modules. Make also allows you to easily connect additional applications to your workflow, creating multi-app automations that would require substantial development effort otherwise. You can modify workflows instantly without redeploying code, and you only pay for the operations you use rather than maintaining infrastructure.
A scenario represents a workflow or a project of your own creation, and it is made up of a series of modules that automate apps and services. Creating a scenario allows you to transfer and transform data between apps and services via these modules to automate anything and improve the way you work.
Modules are the main building blocks of automation in Make. Modules represent actions that Make performs with an app, like creating, updating, or deleting data.
How it works
Traditional no-code iPaaS platforms are linear and non-intuitive. Make allows you to visually create, build, and automate without limits.
