How to setup Perplexity AI and Salesforce in 5 easy steps
Get your Perplexity AI API key
Sign into your Perplexity AI account and click the Settings icon next to your username. Navigate to the API section in the left sidebar, create a new API group by filling in the required information, then go to the API Keys tab and click Create Key. Copy this key immediately and store it safely, as you'll need it to connect Perplexity AI with Make.
Connect Perplexity AI to Make
Log into your Make account and open or create an automation scenario. Add a Perplexity AI module to your scenario and click the Create a connection button. In the connection setup window, paste your API key into the API Key field and optionally give your connection a memorable name to help you identify it later. Click Save to complete the connection.
Add a Salesforce module in Make
Return to your Make account and add a Salesforce module to your automation scenario. When prompted, click the Create a connection button to start linking Salesforce with Make. You'll see different connection options available—select the standard Salesforce option, which works for most users and provides the access you need to automate your tasks.
Set up your Salesforce connection
In the connection setup window, you can optionally enter a name for your connection to help organize it if you plan to use multiple connections. If you're using a Salesforce Sandbox environment for testing, make sure to select that option before proceeding. Once you've configured these settings, click Save to move forward with the connection process.
Authorize Make to access Salesforce
After clicking Save, you'll be prompted to authenticate your Salesforce account and grant Make permission to access it. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the authorization process. Once finished, your connection is ready to use, and you can start building automations that work with both Perplexity AI and Salesforce to optimize your workflows.
